Jesus' Signal

Scripture: Philippians 2:9-11
For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Insights:  The last seven words in today’s verses is what the real issue is regarding this exciting worship.  The reason Jesus was selfless, willing to serve others and to sacrifice His very life was all so that God would be glorified.  This issues was the sole driving force behind Jesus’ obedience to the Father.  Jesus desired His Father to be praised and adored.  Jesus understood the Father was the One worthy of ALL glory.  All of Jesus’ decisions were driven by this simple reality that God was worthy of all glory.  Beloved, I am praying the Lord does such a redemptive work in my life that I am able to year by year be more like Jesus and care more about God’s glory than I do anything else.  To Him be all the praise, honor and glory, forever and ever!!!

Questions:
1.  Is God’s glory the most important thing for you?
2.  Are you harboring anything that ought to be given to the Lord?

Prayer: Father, let my life truly be a beacon pointing and signaling to a world that everything is really about You.  May You truly become for me the most important thing and let me understand how important Your glory truly is.  Amen.
