Worship God as You Follow His Example

Scripture: 1 Peter 2:21-25
For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth; and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.  For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.

Insights:  The final point this week is not very long.  The reason being is it has only one primary point and that is this: Jesus is the example!!!  We worship the Lord as we follow His example.  We die daily to ourselves and learn how to walk in wholeness and purity through Him.  Peter tells us how Jesus faced His last days and His example is the goal for those of us who are born again.  Beloved, let us all deny ourselves, pick up our cross and follow after Him every day of our lives.  If we will do that, then we are truly worshipping Him and that is worth all of the suffering, work issues, freedoms sacrificed and surrendering we do with the government.  Let us seek Christ Jesus and worship Him in all aspects of our lives.

Questions:
1.  What lessons can you learn from Jesus example of worship?
2.  Are you being placed in a situation where you can practice Jesus’ model?

Prayer: Father, as I stated yesterday, I don’t worship You well in suffering, but I do desire to have You transform my life to such an extent that worship is my natural outflow of mistreatment.  May my life bring You glory.  Amen.
